Wow. On Monday I make a post about summer fashion and what happens to the weather? It gets COLDER. Does that make any sense? I think mother nature is just trying to mess with us. She's a jerk.
However, June is just a few days away. Mother Nature can't change that. The forecast tells me the weather's going to get warmer, and soon one day we'll wake up and it'll be beach time!
So, have you been working out? Keeping fit? If you're a Pretty Boy, I know you've been keeping fit. But if you're like me and over 60% of Americans, you don't get enough exercise. Yes, I know the excuses...it's too cold, too hot, there's no time, I had two big macs and I can't move...excuses, excuses. It's not easy getting your butt up and moving around. Not only that, gyms can be expensive and you might be too self consciousnesses to get any real work done.
Something that I've recently gotten my hands on is the new Nintendo Wii Fit. I'm sure you've heard of it by now. Wii Fit has allowed me (someone who can't keep a consistent exercise routine) a chance to chart my progress, stay on target and of course, get some exercise. Wii Fit won't make you a body builder overnight, but it does a great job of getting you active while you play.
Wii Fit comes with a balance board that doubles as a scale. The actual "game" consists of various types of exercises. There's 4 sections to Wii Fit: Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics, and Balance Games. Generally, you stand on the Wii balance board for most of these exercises. However, for exercises like the Side Plank/Push-up and Plank, you place your forearms and hands on the board.
What I really enjoy about the Wii Fit is that it keeps track of all the time I spend doing the exercises, so I can keep going or stop after 40 minutes of working out. It also rewards you by unlocking more things to do the more you play. I find myself coming back day after to day to work out, and it's really fun!
Just a few weeks ago I tried keeping an exercise routine but I quickly found myself loathing my exercise time. With the Wii Fit, when I'm not playing, I'm thinking about exercise! It really goes to show that with things like fitness, the right attitude makes a big difference.
Now, at first glance, the exercises don't seem too tough...but once you do them, you surely feel the burn. The first few days of playing I was defiantly sore. Then again, maybe that just shows how out of shape I am :)
I don't want this post to sound like a review, since we'll have plenty of time to review things like the Wii Fit in Pretty Boy Magazine online and print health and fitness section. I just wanted to remind all you Pretty Boys out there that trunk and speedo weather is just around the corner. You want to make sure you look good and more importantly, feel good! So if you're not doing so already, get out and run around a bit. Do some push-ups, crunches, anything.
If you still need more fitness tips, don't worry, we'll soon be up and running! In the mean time, take a look here at lifetips.com for some exercise ideas. Good luck!
