Summer Blockbuster Pretty Boys

Hello all. I can't believe June is almost over. Maybe it's just me, but June is the kind of month that feels like it's over just after it starts. But because it's June, that means the summer blockbusters are out in force! This summer saw the release of some huge movies like Iron Man, Sex in the City and Indiana Jones 4 just to name of few. June's almost over so it's about time we talk movies a little. Here's a look at some summer movies and their leading Pretty Boy actors.

We start with the movie that kicked off this year's summer:

Iron Man

After last year's big Marvel let down (Spiderman 3), it seems the company hit the right buttons this time with Iron Man. It's good to see Robert Downy Jr. back on his feet with his movie. He's not looking too bad, is he?
Iron Man stars Robert Downy Jr. as arms millionare Tony Stark, who builds a big robot suit so he can undo the damage his arms dealing has done.

On the subject of rich vigilantes with too much time on their hands...

The Dark Knight (July 18th)

Ah, Batman. I don't need to explain what this movie is about. Batman + Joker = anarchy. This movie's going to be huge (actually, it already is). Not only does it look fantastic, but all the buzz surrounding Heath Ledger's death is only going to fuel this blockbuster fire. Ledger looks like he has done an amazing job taking on the role of one of the funniest sadistic killers of all time, the Joker.

Heath, you will be missed.
Another reason why The Dark Knight will do so well? Christian Bale.

The Dark Knight was shot right here in Chicago, so as a Chicago resident, it's your job to make sure these Chicago shot movies do well. I mean, we WANT more of those hot Hollywood actors doing work on our streets, right?

Another movie with some Chicago locations is the upcoming

Wanted stars James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie, and Morgan Freeman. James McAvoy plays a clueless average Joe until Angelina Jolie finds him and recruits him into a super secret super killer assassin's fraternity. I can almost guarantee things will be blowing up in 200 different angles. There's a crazy car scene that's been shot around scenic Chicago streets, so be on the look out for Wacker Drive imitations later this summer.

Here's the kind of quality you can expect from James McAvo
y:

Well my Pretty Boy friends, it's that time. You can bet I'll be back with a post on other summer blockbusters and their Pretty Boy actors. Until then, I'll leave you with a shirtless James McAvoy. Have fun.

Pretty Boy H20

Hello, hello Pretty Boy followers. I have to say, it's been quite a busy week here at Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc. There's lots of work to be done in order to get a magazine going and here at Pretty Boy we're in the thick of it. It's exciting to not only watch, but be fully engaged in the development of Pretty Boy Magazine. At any given moment at any Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc. branch around the United States, there's something new developing.

For instance, the Pretty Boy website is going under development. I know to some people it's not all that exciting, but I think it's about time our website got an update. The Pretty Boy Website should be sexy to accommodate all the Pretty Boy models, right? I know you can see the logic in this.

Speaking of updates, have you guys read about the water powered car? I ran across this bit of news today. Here's the video from Reuters.

Pretty cool stuff. Half electric, half water powered. The design...can be worked on. What I really want to see is a car powered by a Pretty Boy with a "come hither" glance. Now that's technology!

Now, I know there's not a Pretty Boy to be found in the video, but current issues regarding the environment and technology is something we at Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc. now is important. Without the Earth, we wouldn't have any Pretty Boys to admirer anyway!

With that, go enjoy Earth and her plentiful Pretty Boys.

More Summer Events

Earlier this week I posted about some music events happening in the city this time of year. Today I thought I'd share some other interesting, fun and FREE events that's in store for you this summer here in Chicago.

One particular event I always enjoy is Chicago Summer Dance, an eleven week festival held in Grant Park. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, you can come by for a free group dance lesson by professional dancers. After the lesson, you can dance the evening away with excellent live music, with genres ranging from salsa to polka. Summer Dance started today, the 12th! You can find more information on the Chicago Summer Dance website.

You're going to make sure you get up and move around, because the Taste of Chicago is coming soon, and that means eating a whole lot of food. If you're a Chicago resident, you already know about this event. 65 city restaurants set up tents and you come out and eat. There's scheduled music and usually some random off shoots of diversion. All in all, it's a place to hang out and grab some grub while enjoying the summertime. You can't beat that. Here's the website for more info.

Lastly, one final event for today. The Chicago Outdoor Film Festival. I love movies. I love them even more when they're free and being played outdoors. That's just what the Chicago Outdoor Film Festival delivers. Starting July 15th, every Tuesday a cinematic classic will screen for Chicago residents to enjoy. I really enjoy going. Something about sitting outside with the open air and watching a movie is just great. A warning: screenings get packed. If you're going to go, make sure you go a little early. Check out their website for this year's set of films.

That's all for now, Pretty Boy admirers.

Summer in the City

It's been an extremely rainy weekend for Chicago and the Midwest. We were plagued with Tornado touchdowns and flooding for the past few days. Luckily we were able to keep damage to a minimum here at the abode, but one thing all this rain makes me think of is getting out and enjoying sunny weather again.

There's always something to do in the city this time of year, and since I was stuck indoors all weekend long I decided to torture myself by looking at all the great events the city will be hosting this summer. Pretty Boys aren't the only ones who need to get out of the house! Today we'll talk a bit on some Chicago summer music events.

Summer in Chicago means lots of music festivals. This past weekend in the city was Blues Fest, Chicago's blues music festival, but there's music of all kinds to enjoy. On June 13-14, you can catch Beethoven's "Missa Solemnis" played by the Grant Park Orchestra as part of the Grant Park Music Festival. The Grant Park Music Festival is free, and is performed in the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. It's really beautiful enjoying music in the open air, sitting on the picnic blanket while gazing at the sky. It's a great place for a date (wink, wink). You can find more info on free Millennium Park music events here.

But of course, if that's not the kind of sound you're looking for, Chicago's got you covered. We can't talk about Chicago music festivals without mention Lollapalooza 2008. Lollapalooza has some of the hottest bands on the scene right now, from British band Radiohead to hip-hop giant Kanye West, Lollapalooza is geared to be yet another big hit. Tickets are about $190 right now, but those desperate can find solace in Lollapalooza's volunteer program. Here's some more info about Lollapalooza.

If you can't stand all the blatant commercialism of Lollapalooza, then Pitchfork Music Festival is for you. Created by the folks over at the super popular indy band site www.pitchfork.com, this festival promises to be cheaper then Lollapalooza but not any less fun. Hot indy and hip-hop acts include Public Enemy, Animal Collective, Dinosaur Jr., Jarvis Cocker, Ghostface and more. That's happening July 18th -31.

If it wasn't for the fact that Pretty Boy Magazine's first issue is being released AFTER summer, you can bet we'd be all over these events. But once we're out, we'll provide you with a healthy list of music and other exciting events happening in and around Chicago. Until then, enjoy the summer music, Pretty Boys!

Pretty Boy Sneak Peak

Hello all!

Back in early May, Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc. held auditions and got some photos of possible up and coming Pretty Boys. The day was filled with Pretty Boys lining up, hoping to become the next hot Boy Toy to be featured in Pretty Boy Magazine.

Today I was handed a super secret disc holding photos of some of the models from the May 5th audition. I couldn't just keep this to myself. Here's a sneak peak of Pretty Boys you can expect to see in Pretty Boy Magazine online and print.

I don't want to get into too much trouble, so that's where I have to stop. These guys are looking hot, aren't they? This is only the tip of the iceberg, my Pretty Boy admirers. There's much more to come.

Rumble in the Bronx

Hello all you Pretty Boys and Pretty Boy lovers! There's a whole lot of excitement around here in the Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc. Much of it is still hush-hush, here's some tidbits...

Last week Roc went on a pilgrimage to the Bronx to meet with the Pretty Boy branch in New York. As you remember, Roc was away to go over Pretty Boy business and get down on some Pretty Boy event planning. Evidently the boys in New York know how to treat our generous CEO to a proper Pretty Boy welcome!

Besides dancing the night away with Boy Toys in tow, Roc was able to finalize some details regarding upcoming Pretty Boy Events. Thanks to the hard work of our New York branch, a night club has been chosen to host our Pretty Boy Club Night event! Though details are still under wraps, once everything is finalized you'll be sure you to see it here.

Times are fast and exciting here at Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc.. Our branches just seem to sprout and keep growing all over the country. People are already enticed by the Pretty Boy phenomena, and we love giving them their Pretty Boy fix.
