Fitness Talk

Wow. On Monday I make a post about summer fashion and what happens to the weather? It gets COLDER. Does that make any sense? I think mother nature is just trying to mess with us. She's a jerk.

However, June is just a few days away. Mother Nature can't change that. The forecast tells me the weather's going to get warmer, and soon one day we'll wake up and it'll be beach time!

So, have you been working out? Keeping fit? If you're a Pretty Boy, I know you've been keeping fit. But if you're like me and over 60% of Americans, you don't get enough exercise. Yes, I know the excuses...it's too cold, too hot, there's no time, I had two big macs and I can't move...excuses, excuses. It's not easy getting your butt up and moving around. Not only that, gyms can be expensive and you might be too self consciousnesses to get any real work done.

Something that I've recently gotten my hands on is the new Nintendo Wii Fit. I'm sure you've heard of it by now. Wii Fit has allowed me (someone who can't keep a consistent exercise routine) a chance to chart my progress, stay on target and of course, get some exercise. Wii Fit won't make you a body builder overnight, but it does a great job of getting you active while you play.

Wii Fit comes with a balance board that doubles as a scale. The actual "game" consists of various types of exercises. There's 4 sections to Wii Fit: Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics, and Balance Games. Generally, you stand on the Wii balance board for most of these exercises. However, for exercises like the Side Plank/Push-up and Plank, you place your forearms and hands on the board.

What I really enjoy about the Wii Fit is that it keeps track of all the time I spend doing the exercises, so I can keep going or stop after 40 minutes of working out. It also rewards you by unlocking more things to do the more you play. I find myself coming back day after to day to work out, and it's really fun!

Just a few weeks ago I tried keeping an exercise routine but I quickly found myself loathing my exercise time. With the Wii Fit, when I'm not playing, I'm thinking about exercise! It really goes to show that with things like fitness, the right attitude makes a big difference.

Now, at first glance, the exercises don't seem too tough...but once you do them, you surely feel the burn. The first few days of playing I was defiantly sore. Then again, maybe that just shows how out of shape I am :)

I don't want this post to sound like a review, since we'll have plenty of time to review things like the Wii Fit in Pretty Boy Magazine online and print health and fitness section. I just wanted to remind all you Pretty Boys out there that trunk and speedo weather is just around the corner. You want to make sure you look good and more importantly, feel good! So if you're not doing so already, get out and run around a bit. Do some push-ups, crunches, anything.

If you still need more fitness tips, don't worry, we'll soon be up and running! In the mean time, take a look here at lifetips.com for some exercise ideas. Good luck!

Memorial Day Fasion Reminder

Ah yes. It's that time of year again. The smell of charcoal in every yard, college grads passing out on the street, and people getting lined to up see expensive over the top summer blockbusters...it's the unofficial start of summer!

Tis the end of the Memorial Day weekend and June is just a week away. This means it's time all you Pretty Boys start moving that summer gear out of the closet. Now, I know. Pretty Boy Magazine online and print won't be coming out for a few more months. But that's why I'm here. I've gone around and did a little bit of research on Pretty Boy summer fashion.

This post over at Shoptalk deals with some basic Do's and Don't of Summer wear. I don't know, the post says no to speedos but if you look good in them, I say why not?

I found an interesting link at Adverse.com, with photos of summer fashion coming out of Milan, Italy. This is high-end stuff and very European, but you might end up entranced toward the models, not the apparel.

Speaking of fashions shows, the guys over at Blurberry have a great selection of men's summer fashion show videos. Videos include Gucci, D&G and Prada.

Those models are definitely Pretty Boy material. Pretty Boy Magazine online and print will soon be around to provide you with more in-depth fashion examination and tips. Your guide to all things fashion will be Pretty Boy style expert Oscar Garcia, Director of Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc.'s Original Genetic Art (OGA) clothing line.

I'm certain our Pretty Boys will show those Milan guys a thing or two...

Well, that's all for now. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

Pretty Boy Hot Happenings

Hello, hello, Jesse here.

There's some exciting happenings going on this weekend for Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc. Our fearless leader, Roc, is headed toward culture capital New York City this weekend.

Roc will be meeting up with the Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc. division over in New York, so I hope you guys got everything in tip-top shape for Roc's visit. There's some exciting developments with this visit!

Roc's headed down to finalize a few hot Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc. events happening in New York in the nearby future. The guys in New York have been working hard organizing events and happenings for the Pretty Boy crowd.

Events like the Pretty Boy Club Night. That's right, a chance for you and your friends to get down in New York City, dancing the night away with Boy Toys supplying you with drinks and fun! Roc still needs to make some executive decisions on this event, but as soon as everything is finalized, you can bet you'll hear it here.

Other events on the agenda this weekend include the Pretty Boy Luxury Cruise. Not into the club scene? Well, hop aboard the Pretty Boy party cruise! This cruise will circle around Manhattan with the New York City night skyline as the backdrop. Drink, socialize, party and who knows? Maybe you'll run across someone special and take in the beautiful sights together...or maybe you'll just go crazy on the dance floor!

I know, all of this already sounds freaking amazing. But there's one more event that's on the New York City agenda: the Pretty Boy Block Party. Take one New York City Block, add Boy Toys, music, drinks and Pretty Boys and you got the ingredients for a really great time.

All these events will be examined and finalized by Roc and the New York City Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc. crew this weekend. So I say good luck to you guys on these exciting and fun events!

See you next time!

Cute Cosplayers

Well. I've returned from ACEN 2008. The convention seems to get bigger and bigger every year. When we arrived Friday night, there was already an ambulance, firetruck and three squad cars who arrived with us. ACEN has changed since it's early days as a simple anime convention. These days you'll find more then your average anime fan walking around. People who don't even like anime show up, simply to enjoy the three day party.

I promised pics last post and I will not disapoint. Although, I have to say...while I admit that I usually haven't specifically looked around for Pretty Boys in cosplay at ACEN before, I felt that there just wasn't enough. Lots of cute girls in skimpy outfits, but the ratio of cute girls to cute boys is something like 5:2. But that doesn't mean I didn't look! Although last year there were defiantly lots more Pretty Boys walking around...maybe they got scared off this year? I dunno.

Here, however, are some Pretty Boy cosplayers I found along ACEN. Some of these weren't taken by me, but they're all cute boys in cosplay, so why complain?

You know, looking at these pics makes me want to see a comic book/anime Pretty Boy cosplay photo shoot. I think some of our guys could blow these out of the water.

Well, that's it for now. Now it's time to recuperate. Until next time!

Pretty Nerdy Boys

Hello all!

You know, there's a stigma out there that any boy who likes nerdy things tends to be ugly, unclean, smelly and not a Pretty Boy. I come here today to tell you that is sorely not the case. Nerdy boys can still be Pretty Boys and vice versa. There's no room for stereotypes here at Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc.

Now...yes. There are some extremely "not pleasurable to the eye" kind of nerd folk out there, but they're not all like that. I've seen some really scandalous nerds in my day...which brings me to today's topic.

This upcoming weekend, the Midwest's biggest Anime convention is being held at the Hyatt Regancy O'Hare in Rosemont, IL. Anime Central, otherwise known as ACEN, is the largest gathering of anime nerds and nerdettes in the Midwest.

For those who may not know, anime is Japanese animation. ACEN is simply a celebration of all things anime. What does this have to do with Pretty Boy, you ask?

At ACEN, many fans engage in something called "Cosplay." These people dress up exactly like an anime or video game character of their choosing. There are a lot of girls and guys who spend a lot of time and effort in their costumes, all to the joy of con goers.

Because I will be at this event, for my next post on Sunday, I will be putting up all pictures of any hot Pretty Boy cosplayers I find. I will spend my time scouring the convention looking for any Pretty Boy willing to get their pictures taken (and they're always more then willing).

Saturday night ACEN hosts a rave called "Soap Bubble." More often then not, we'll find plenty of Pretty Boys dancing the night away in very scandalous clothing.

Stay tuned for pics!

Pretty Boy Enterprises presents: Pretty Boy Contest

Last week here in Chicago, Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc. held a casting call to all Pretty Boys in the area. I was there for a while to check out Pretty Boys first hand. There were quite a few there, believe you me. Pretty Boys from all walks of life, coming together under the pretense of the Pretty Boy image. So many Pretty Boys, but, as always, not enough time to admire them all.

While there, all those Pretty Boys in one room reminded us about Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc.'s upcoming event: The Pretty Boy of the Year contest. Can you imagine an event where Pretty Boys from around the country gathered to battle for the title of Pretty Boy of the Year? Sure, there's Ms. America, Mr. Universe, but what about Mr. Pretty Boy? The hottest, prettiest boys from all over the country will gather at New York City to find out will be this year's Mr. Pretty Boy.

Whoever is named Mr. Pretty Boy 2008 will recieve a $1000 prize, and there may possibly be a ticket for two island vacation for the winner as well. Not only that, but Mr. Pretty Boy will get a Mr. Pretty Boy statue, like an Oscar for being a Pretty Boy. Of course, winner gets bragging rights as the Prettiest Boy in America! The accolade's just won't stop, because the winner will also be the centerfold for the next issue of Pretty Boy Magazine.

This event is planned for October 8th, which happens to be Pretty Boy Enterprises Inc. CEO Roc's birthday. Coincidence?

If you fit the Pretty Boy image, there's no reason why you wouldn't want to test your mettle against Pretty Boys from around the country and the globe. This contest sounds amazing, makes me wish I was a Pretty Boy myself.

Check out www.prettyboyenterprisesinc.com if you want to get in contact with us about anything Pretty Boy related.

In regards to the Mr. Pretty Boy contest, check here for any updates!

A differnt kind of Pretty Boy

Hello everyone. I hope you're enjoying the first day of May! Let's hope it turns out to be a good month.

Today, I thought it would be fun to let you all in on a business practice from Japan that I think is BEGGING to be exploited here in the United States. That business practice: host clubs.

Here's how they work. You gather a bunch of fashionable, sexy boys. They're job is to be a host. A girl comes into the establishment and picks her favorite guy from a long roster of boys. That boy hangs out with that girl and lavishes her with attention, dancing, jokes and of course...booze.

You can find videos on YouTube of various host clubs advertising their place. Here's a quick vid.

Looks glamorous, doesn't it? Of course it does...because it costs a decent amount of money to spend quality time with your host. The fees vary from club to club, and most clubs offer super special packages...like 30 minutes of champagne drinking with the WHOLE group of hosts. Now that's service (for quite a few Yen)!

If you're interested or just want to look at more Japanese pretty boys, I suggest watching the film "The Great Happiness Space: Tale of an Osaka Love Thief." It's kind of sad, while getting an in-depth exploration of the day to day stresses and worries of these boys.

I've seen the movie posted online, but I don't want anybody getting on me for posting online movies. Just look it up and I'm sure you'll find it.

Here's the poster...he looks so deep in thought... "Why am I so damn pretty," he must be asking.
